Pink Series 10K

August 6, 2011

By Kristin Brown

Who knew running a 10K could be so fun? This year's 10K located in Logan, UT surely did not disappoint! The Directors of the Pink Series add such a personal touch and attend to the smallest of details to make each runner feel special and important - no matter what their running level is! Where to start?? Shall I take a second and comment on "The Swag"...The Pink Series "Swag" is out of this world! The race shirts are so cute! In fact, they don't look like the typical race shirt (thank you DownEast Basics)! I have already worn mine several times since the 10K and am looking forward to see what the race shirt will look like for the half marathon this year! Inside the racebag at the 10K, there were amazing coupons that you will actually want to use (Sweet Tooth Fairy & Great Harvest Bread to name a couple), other yummy treats and even a bottle of ChemDry Carpet Stain Remover!

The starting point of the 10K was located near a tunnel where the director's had chalk ready and waiting for each of us to "make our mark" on the wall before we started our race! This was an emotional and memorable experience to see tributes to women written on the wall who have both won and lost the great fight to cancer -- It was a special touch to the race that I won't soon forget. The course itself was a fun course! There was some good downhill to start and end the race, but there was also some uphill/false flats in the middle that made me feel like I earned my spot at the finish line :)!!

The finish line is also something to look forward to! Being greeted by the handsome men in shirt and tie and presented with the Pink Series Charm (that is sooo cute and original) are part of the personal touch and details that set this race apart from other races! The finish line atmosphere and food were top notch, and the raffle and top finisher prizes were amazing (as usual)!

With the Pink Series, you can always count on being treated like a queen and a race course that you will fall in love with because you either set your PR, or love the scenery and location of each race! I have now participated in The Pink Series inaugural 5K, 10K, and half marathon; and am looking forward to running their 2nd half marathon in just a few weeks in Park City, UT!
