Low Calorie Snacks

These three snacks contain vitamins and minerals, taste great, and fight the afternoon urge to splurge on chocolate and other sugars.

Orange & Nut Cup
4 oz. mandarin oranges topped with 2 tsp chopped walnuts, pecans, or almonds

Apple & Cheese or Apple & PB
1 sliced apple
1 oz. brie (if you don’t like brie, use a mild cheddar)
or
2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
Cut brie into small pieces and each with each bite of apple, or dip apple slices into peanut butter. Eat this after school with your kids!

Guacamole
1/3 of an avocado
4 tablespoons salsa
6 whole wheat crackers
Mash the avocado and mix with the salsa. Top crackers with mix.
